Advanced Media and Design Electives
Computer Graphics I - 10th, 11th, 12th
1/2 year 1/2 credit (or full year Graphics 1 and 2= 1 credit)
A studio based computer course in which students will gain an understanding of Graphic Design and New Media. Students will gain proficiency with graphics software, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and other motion graphics and animation software. Students will learn about computer graphics and design as it relates to advertising, entertainment, television, animation and communications. Required Prerequisite: DDP, IED, Studio in Art, Creative Crafts.
In this course, students will have the opportunity to build on their skills from Computer Graphics I by creating advanced print and multimedia graphics, animation and introductory video projects. Required Prerequisite: Computer Graphics 1 or PI.
Digital Video Editing I- 11th, 12th
This is a course where students have the opportunity to learn basic skills and techniques in all phases of filming and editing a digital video production. Students will produce short original video productions for web or other presentation venues. Required Prerequisite: Computer Graphics or PI.
Digital Video Editing II - 11th, 12th
1/2 year 1/2 credit
This is a half-year course for students who have completed Digital Video Editing I and would like to pursue advanced studies in this area. In this course students will be able to direct and produce original video works. Required Prerequisite: Digital Video Editing I or PI
1 year 1 credit
This course is designed for students to build on their existing skills in Video Editing and or Graphic Design in a real life application. Students will create original video presentations, graphics and motion graphics for broadcasting on NPZ and New Paltz Public Access channels.
Required Prerequisite: -Computer Graphics 1 and Video Editing 1 or-PI

**Studio in Computer Art**** 10th, 11th, 12th 1/2 year 1/2 credit
A half-year course where art and technology students interested digital media will explore the techniques and concepts in contemporary digital fine art. Traditional and digital art processes will be explored. Students will be encouraged to develop portfolio quality artwork. Components of Art techniques and art history will be incorporated into lessons.
Required Prerequisite: any Art or Technology foundation course
