    Hello Everyone,  I hope this finds all of you well.

    Please reach out if you are having extenuating circumstances that I am unaware.

    I will do whatever I can to help out.

    I have not recieved discussion of the article from many of you,

    those that have completed that assignment, I thank you.

    I am linking the desing brief for the Battle Bot.  Please research completely

    and sketch all ideas on paper.  I have made suggestions on the design brief as 

    how to include your sketches in a digital file.

    I will link how to use a 3d software to actually make your design on Wed. of next

    week.  This does not mean your design needs to be done by then but for those

    that want to play with the software before they need it, it will be there for them.

    I am also considering throwing in a 3rd dimension to this activity dependent on

    if we go back to school or not. OK.  Here it is.

    Hello Everyone,

    I hope this finds all of you well.  We are going to enhance our learning

    by first reading and article and writing  couple(2) paragraphs on points in the

    Once you have that done, send it off to me via email and begin watching the videos and

    looking at the links below:

    These links are in preparation for our next project.  This will be done individually, however,

    I do encourage collaboration with classmates by bouncing ideas off each other to optimize your

    design.  So watch the videos below and look at the webpage (last link) to begin thinking 

    about your design.  I am thinking that we will keep these design smaller (6 lbs) mantisweight.

    The footprint needs to be 8"x8" x 6 " (widthxdepthxheight).  I am thinking a 3 motor limit so be

    creative.  I want you to follow the design process completely with this.  So for today you are watching

    videos, thinking about what type of robot design you would like and rough sketching. I will send out

    the design brief, engineering notebook papers, decision matrix and an introduction to TinkerCad.

    Hello Everyone,

    I want you to start thinking about and sketching ideas for your own

    Robot design.  I would also like to include components made with the 

    3-D printer and VEX components. 

    I am working on all the criteria for you but as an initial

    introduction, think about what this robot would look like?

    What the 3D design portion would look like and

    what will the VEX components look like?

    How will the two portions connect? 

    I can always be reached by email.  I will post the criteria by Tuesday.

    Hello Everyone,

    I thank you for first reading my webpage.

    It is important for everyone continue to read and check my webpage a few times a week.  The next

    discussion will be on a research and design project.  You will be drawing by hand or using a web-based program

    that everyone can access and creating a robot design including all necessary components.

    So as we continue into week 2, we need to stay focused and work the best we can. 

    If you do not have access to internet either via your phone or computer

    please let me know or if you know of someone that is not getting this information, please let me know.

    So as of today- no new work however please send something out in your group chats, etc. to you friends and peers

    to let them know that they need to be checking my webpage and check for the assignment which will be forthcoming.

     

    Send me any photos of how you and yours are dealing with Covid-19- what have you been doing, how are you keeping healthy.

    Dear Robotics Class,  It seems as if we are using snow days for this week 
                                and our spring break will be next week. If I get word
                                that we will be out for longer than the planned 2 weeks, I
                                will be posting more information for you and perhaps assigning
                                some type of research project. I know you all must be bored
                                and want to get back to your building. We will do what we can. 

                                 For now: stay healthy, wash you hands, stay away from crowds.
                                 Check periodically for updates.

    Activity:

    Your goal is to have a working robot by the end of class today!

    I am after school if you do not finish.

    Programmer: you should begin writing code for your robot so you can test it.

    Make certain you are still recording in your engineering notebook.

    We are planning visitors from IBM for Thursday.

    Competition will be following the visit.
