• Dear Staff, Parents and Families,

We have learned that one of our school bus drivers has tested positive for COVID-19.

The driver last transported students on Friday, March 19th.    At the time, the driver was free of any symptoms and wearing a mask as per the District protocol, and social distancing standards were followed. Our transportation department was able to provide us with a route manifests, as well as seating charts for both the morning and afternoon runs.  Any students or transportation staff members who were in close proximity to the driver were contacted.

The driver's bus has already undergone extensive cleaning per our current heightened cleaning protocols. Given this discovery, however, additional care will be given to the transportation facility to ensure the location has been thoroughly sanitized.

The Ulster County Department of Health (UCDOH) was notified and will handle any contact tracing necessary. UCDOH will contact you directly should it be determined that you had any risk of exposure.

I want to emphasize the importance of not coming to any of our District locations if you exhibit any of the following COVID-19 symptoms:

    • Fever or chills

    • Cough

    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

    • Fatigue

    • Muscle or body aches

    • Headache

    • New loss of taste or smell

    • Sore throat

    • Congestion or runny nose

    • Nausea or vomiting

    • Diarrhea

Please also remain home if you have been in contact with anyone who:

    • has tested positive for COVID-19 in the previous 14 days.

    • is suspected of having COVID-19.

    • is awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test.

I know that you will join me in wishing all involved a speedy recovery.
