A collaborative effort of the Youth Coalition and the New Paltz Community Foundation which will be the youth facet of the Hasbrouck Park restoration project

    Polling and Consensus Projects

These projects are based off our Informal Neighborhood Consensus Survey or INCS program which gains a neighborhood as well as individual perspective on specific projects or proposals, This will not only honor the wishes of residents but it will provide a sounding board to address resident concerns.

Wallkill Access and Alternative Transportation Initiative

This project will include a dock located close to town so that people using the Wallkill River would be able to reach the Village quicker and more conveniently. Another aspect of the initiative is connecting the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail to Boat Landings/Launches and Parks/Community Spaces.

    Healthy Foods

The Youth Advisory Committee will be working in collaboration with organizations who are interested in offering healthier foods in our schools,

    Community Service Database

This project will be an inclusion to our website which will allow organizations to post community service opportunities, Thus allowing all members of the community to begin taking an active role in the improvement and enrichment of New Paltz.

Wallkill River Task Force and River Watch

Working in collaboration with several environmental and civic organizations The Youth Advisory Committee will be introducing the Multi-Municipality Wallkill River Task Force. The task force will focus on improving and maintaining the health and environmental quality of the Wallkill and begin implementing safeguards to make it a viable source of recreation and environmental soundness. An additional program under the Task Force is the "RiverWatch" program with volunteers from each tier acting as our eyes and ears on the water.View the PowerPoint Here.
