Meeting was called to order at 8:30 PM by David Dukler, Board President.

OLD BUSINESS
Motion made by Don Kerr and seconded by Steven Greenfield that the Board of
Education approve the following resolution:
APPROVE TAX LEVY
4.1 Request for Approval of the Tax Levy, Acknowledgement of the Tax Rates and Issuance of the Tax Warrant
Recommendation � that the following resolution be approved: BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the New Paltz Central School District, does hereby establish the 2008/2009 school property tax levy at $30,610,000, the Gardiner Library property tax levy at $8,000, acknowledge the related tax rates, and sign the attached tax warrant to be delivered to the tax collector with an effective date of ���� September 9, 2008.
Trustee Rod Dressel proposed an amendment to the motion on the floor that would change the $30,610,000 to
$30, 910,000. The amendment to the motion was seconded by President David Dukler.
Motion to amend FAILED with a vote of 2 YES (David Dukler, Rod Dressel) to 4 NO (Steve Greenfield, Don Kerr, Patrick Rausch, Edgar Rodriguez) with 6 members voting.
Motion to approve original resolution CARRIED with a vote of 4 YES (Steve Greenfield, Don Kerr, Patrick Rausch, Edgar Rodriguez) to 2 NO (David Dukler, Rod Dressel) with 6 members voting.
4.2 Request for Approval to Direct Audit Committee to Develop a Plan to Eliminate Appropriated Fund Balance
PLAN TO ELIMINATE APPROPRIATED FUND BALANCE
Motion made by David Dukler and seconded by Patrick Rausch that the Board of
Education direct the Audit Committee to develop a plan to eliminate the appropriated
fund balance for the purpose of paying down taxes in a financially responsible
period of time.
Motion carried 6 � 0 with 6 members voting.

Motion made by Patrick Rausch and seconded by Rod Dressel that the Board
adjourn at 9:55 PM.
Motion carried 6 - 0 with 6 members voting.
