Meeting was called to order at 6:07 PM by David Dukler, Board President.

EXECUTIVE SESSION EXECUTIVE
Motion made by Donald Kerr and seconded by Daniel Torres that the Board of SESSION
Education move into Executive Session at 6:07 PM for the purpose of discussing
the employment history of particular individuals and contract negotiations under the
Taylor Law.
Motion carried 6 - 0 with 6 members voting.
Out of Executive Session - Motion made by Donald Kerr and seconded by
Daniel Torres that the Board return to Public Session at 7:00 PM.
Motion carried 6 - 0 with 6 members voting.
COMMUNITY BUDGET FORUM
The Board of Education and Administrative Staff met in the High School Auditorium with members of the public to address questions, comments and recommendations regarding the proposed 2010-2011 Budget. A PowerPoint presentation was provided and open microphones allowed the members of the public opportunity to dialogue with the Board of Education.
A brief Special Meeting was called to order as follows for purposes of acting on two New Business items.

NEW BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS
Motion made by Daniel Torres and seconded by Kathleen Tobin Flusser
that the Board of Education approve the following resolution:
Request for Approval to Place Proposition on Ballot at the Annual Meeting on May 18, 2010 Approving Purchase of Vehicles
BE IT RESOLVED that the following proposition be placed on the ballot at the Annual Meeting of the qualified voters of the New Paltz Central School District, to be conducted on May 18, 2010:
Shall the Board of Education of the New Paltz Central School District, Ulster County, New York, be authorized to purchase two 65-passenger or larger school buses at a cost of $102,500 each, for a maximum estimated cost of $205,000; five 20-passenger or larger school buses at a cost of $43,000 each, for a maximum estimated cost of $215,000; and one operations and maintenance vehicle in the nature of a utility vehicle at a maximum estimated cost of $60,000; for an aggregate maximum estimated cost of $480,000; and that the sum of $480,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall be raised by the levy of a tax upon the taxable property of said School District and collected in annual installments, as provided by Section 416 of the Education Law, and, in anticipation of such tax, obligations of the District shall be issued.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the School District Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish this proposition in the Legal Notice of Annual Meeting, Election and Vote in the designated newspapers.

Motion made by Daniel Torres and seconded by David Dukler that the Board of
Education approve the following resolution:
Request for Approval to Nominate Candidate for Election to the Ulster County BOCES Board of Trustees
BE IT RESOLVED that the New Paltz Central School District Board of Education approve the nomination of Barbara Carroll to run for a three year term as a trustee to the Ulster County BOCES Board of Education effective July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013 as the New Paltz Central School District representative and approve the nomination of Patrick Rausch to run for a three year term as a trustee to the Ulster County BOCES Board of Education effective July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013 as an At Large candidate.
Motion carried 6 – 0 with 6 members voting.
