2025-2026 District Goals

Growth Area 1: Focus on Academics/Rigor

  • UFLI phonics program used for early readers

  • MTSS Plan almost complete

  • Branching Minds Introduced

  • New Science Program, K-5

  • Wonders introduced, 3-5

  • New Social Studies curriculum (Nassau BOCES, modified), K-5

  • Common assessments in development, K-5

  • Common assessments in development, 7-12

  • Data analysis protocol introduced to new Department Heads and Grade Level Leaders

Growth Area 2: Support Communication at all Levels

  • Superintendent community updates are sent out as needed to students, employees, parents, and community members who have provided their address

  • School instagram, facebook, and webpage used for communication

  • School Messenger is used to send emails and text messages to parents as needed

  • All teachers are required to send out a course syllabus or a class letter to parents at the beginning of each school year

  • Regular newsletters and occasional updates are  sent to families from building principals

  • At the elementary levels, teachers usually send out weekly or bi-weekly updates

  • At the HS and MS levels, teacher communication with parents is prioritized.and expected

  • Special education family nights have been held

  • The food service department sends out monthly menus and occasional updates

  • The athletic department sends out at least three emails per season with updates on how teams are doing along with reminders for the upcoming season

  • The transportation department uses a bus routing program to provide busing information to parents.  They regularly update parents on changes to routes

  • PTA organizations work with building offices to send information out as needed

  • Parents are encouraged to use powerschool parent portal to monitor student progress

Growth Area 3: Support Safety and Security

  • Many safety measures are in place but the specifics are not available to the public

Growth Area 4: Support Health and Wellness

  • Student attendance and tardiness have improved over the past couple of years.

  • The community continuing education program has been implemented with good success as it supports wellness in the community

  • The wellness committee updates the district wellness policy annually

  • The wellness committee is working toward creating a monthly wellness challenge

  • The cafeteria follows all required guidelines and requirements

  • Physical education classes provide instruction to all students

  • All students take health education classes in middle school and high school
