Middle School Students Support Annual Blood Drive

New Paltz Middle School (NPMS) hosted its twentieth annual Blood Drive for the New York Blood Center (NYBC) while the building was closed for a Superintendent’s Conference and Election Day. Approximately 85 students from Melissa Gruver-LaPolt’s Grade 8 Health class volunteered by soliciting, greeting, and attending to donors, and received community service hours towards the class’s community service requirement. Most impressively, the drive exceeded the lofty goal of collecting 100 units by collecting 119. WOW! Many thanks to the NYBC, the NPMS, Mrs. Gruver-LaPolt, the student volunteers, and the donors for rolling up their sleeves to make it happen!
