The District will be holding a public hearing for the 2013-2014 Code of Conduct and 2013-2014 Safety Plan on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. The public hearings will be on the Board of Education agenda for the meeting that evening. New Paltz Central School District Teachers Attend Groundbreaking Conference
On Saturday, May 11, 2013, three New Paltz District teachers—Rebecca Burdett, Shawn Doyle and Denise Rega-Sanchez—presented at the Educating English Language Learners in Early Childhood, a groundbreaking conference at Mercy College. Click here to learn more about it.
The district's administrative offices will be closed to the public on June 6th and 7th. Staff members will be in the process of moving the District Office to the Lenape Elementary School on Eugene Brown Drive. The new offices will be open for business on Monday, June 10th. Students Kick-off Read-A-Thon Students in Lenape and Duzine Elementary Schools are participating in a read-A-Thon to raise money for students in Africa. They will collect pledges for each book they read. Both schools are also conducting a book drive where New Paltz residents can donate new and used books that will be sent to Maloto through the Fulbright program. More info...
Three Elementary Teachers Published Elementary school teachers Matthew Elkin, Adrienne Houk Maley and Arielle Chiger recently had their work "20 Fun Facts About Beetles, Centipedes, and Praying Mantises" published by Gareth Stevens Publishing. The teachers began working together in 2007 when they collaborated on designing, creating and adapting all types of educational content. (Press Release)
Rebecca Burdett, a first grade teacher at Duzine Elementary School, was invited by the Hudson Valley Writing Project (HVWP) to travel to Washington, DC in March to join colleagues from around the country at the organization’s Spring Meeting. See Press Release.

Comprehensive Facilities Master Plan Progress Report
At the March 15th Board of Education meeting, KG&D Architects made a presentation to the Board of Education updating them on both the potential Safety/Security Project and the Conceptual Design Options. No Board action was taken.
Send An Email in Support of the Board's Resolution Against Testing
On February 20, 2013, the NPCSD Board of Education unanimously adopted a Resolution On High Stakes Testing to express their concern about the educational and financial impacts of these tests.
