  • Dear Parents and Community Members:

It is with a heavy heart that I write to share the tragic news that Kyle Brewer, a sophomore at New Paltz High School, has passed away.

On Friday, March 13th, during after school track practice, Kyle collapsed and was unresponsive.  The coaches and students responded immediately by calling 911, administering CPR, and using the school's automated external defibrillator (AED).  The New Paltz Rescue Squad responded quickly and Kyle was transported to Vassar Hospital in Poughkeepsie and was later transferred to Westchester Medical Center.  It was determined that he had a heart attack.  Unfortunately, at approximately 11:30 PM Sunday evening, Kyle suffered another heart attack and passed away.  Click here to continue reading.
