Students cut out the dough and pressed them with prepared vegetable filling. And voila! Delicious dumplings. The class, which had spent several weeks learning everything there was to know about the Lunar New Year, made paper lanterns and festive dragons for the special occasion. They also sampled a traditional rice cake treat–nian gao, which symbolizes good luck–shared by a parent.
