Sensory Bins Promote Social Emotional Learning

Each classroom at Duzine Elementary is now stocked with a Sensory Bin filled with items to help students explore multiple senses, including sight, sound, and touch. Sensory bins can help students calm, reset, and practice breathing through tactile sensation.

This project was developed through the thoughtful efforts of Duzine’s Social/Emotional Learning Committee, who met monthly to discuss best practices and strategies for supporting our students. The project was generously funded by the NPCSD Foundation for Student Enhancement.

Pictured is Duzine Elementary School Social Worker Renee Reynolds, who is entering her 22nd year supporting our little ones! Thank you to everyone in our community who helps keep our students healthy.
