Meredith Oppenheimer & Erin Bulson’s Grade 4 class at Lenape Elementary loves collaborative group projects! Students have been working hard on a Geology unit, learning about the rock cycle and how rocks form. After completing an inquiry lesson, students investigated the different types of rocks and prototyped models of the rock cycle in their science folders. Students then participated in a “gallery walk” of each other's draft models, and modified their prototypes based on peer feedback. 

 

Students are now working in groups to create a final poster model that includes a title, illustrations, labels, arrows, and a scientific statement about the rock cycle. After the groups present their final poster models to the class, the projects will be displayed in the Lenape hallway for everyone to enjoy!
