Puppy Adoption Day!

Grade 4 students in Meredith Oppenheimer and Erin Bulson’s class were in for a surprise today—a "Puppy Adoption Day"! Each student picked out their own stuffed puppy, named it, created an adoption certificate, and even made a homemade collar. Throughout the day, students’ lessons were inspired by their new furry friends!

In English Language Arts (ELA), students listened to "Once I Ate a Pie" and used their puppy journals and pencils to craft original poems and stories.

In math, they calculated the cost of caring for a puppy for an entire year.

In the afternoon, they combined creativity and Valentine’s Day fun by building themed dog houses with cardboard, stickers, and cutouts—just in time for their class party!

What an unforgettable way to combine learning, creativity, and a little puppy love!
