Thank you for taking the time to visit my website! My name is Amy Gogerty and I am one of your child's fifth grade teachers for the 2019-2020 school year. My co-teacher is Mrs. Rachel Fisher-Markle. I am truly excited to have the opportunity to work with all of your children this year!

I would like to share a little bit about myself so you can get to know me! I have lived in the Hudson Valley Region my entire life and I love living in such a beautiful area. I graduated from Mount St. Mary College with both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Prior to teaching for New Paltz, I worked in New York City as a third grade teacher for three years and before teaching third grade, I taught Pre-K for one year. Teaching is my passion because I love to learn! Learning is what makes life interesting and fun. Before I decided to become a teacher, I wanted to be a veterinarian or a chef. I decided not to become a vet because I realized I would be too upset seeing hurt or sick animals every day. My vision of becoming a chef didn't happen because I realized I am a terrible cook! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, watching movies, hiking, and playing with my adorable dog, Luna! I also enjoy spending time with my husband, our son, Henry and our daughter, Katherine.

I am a passionate educator, ready to meet the needs of all of my students and make learning fun and enjoyable! Let's have a wonderful school year!
