Homework is NOT mandatory, but rather highly encouraged to help maintain students' growth as well as promote continued success and development of important literacy skills and strategies.

Suggestions:

*Read daily for at least 20 minutes

*Engage in one of the following activities (before, during, or after reading)

1. Comprehension Conversation (select one prompt to talk about)

2. Comprehension Composition (select 1 question to answer)

3. Map It Out (create a Thinking Map; templates of maps included in link)

4. Picture This (illustrate your favorite scene/event and include a brief description, on

    the computer or by hand)
