My Google Classroom is a Work-In-Progress (WIP) and is coming along nicely! My goal is to eventually use this new website as the location for "instruction" and "assignments" will be located.

In the meantime, I will continue to update my district webpage (here) to ease the transition as I eventually move toward Google Classroom. Please continue to check back here often for news and updates!

First and foremost, welcome back!! I have been engaging in a lot of communication and collaboration to determine the best course of action as we officially begin remote learning. Google Classroom will be my main "classroom" where instructional content and suggested activities will be located! I am continuing to work on it.

Additionally, I have added several pieces of NEW content to my webpage here, including a "News & Updates" page (where we are now), a page specifically about "Epic!", an optional website to support students' reading, a link to the "NPCSD Reading Department Website," and "Read Alouds," a page containing links to others and myself delivering read alouds!

Please take a moment to check out these resources.

My office hours are officially posted on my "Welcome" page, and are 9:00-10:00AM and 2:00-3:00PM daily, or another time by appointment. Please email me if you want to schedule a call/Google Meet.

IMPORTANT: An email titled "AIS Reading" was emailed to all of families of students I service on Tuesday, March 31st.

If you have NOT replied yet, please be sure to do so ASAP so I know you have received it. Establising communication so that I am able to check in with you and provide support on a regular basis is my priority.

Hello everyone - Google Classroom is now live and I have begun using this platform to post suggested assignments, activities, and resources. I will plan to update this teacher website with resources as well, but not as often, so please check in with me on Google Classroom regulalry for announcements and other instructional materials being posted.

Please continue to utilize both resources as we continue our remote learning. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to rech out to me - I am here for you!! Remember that the district's main priority speaks for all of us - you and your family's wellbeing. Stay safe and I look forward to "seeing" you in our new reading classroom!" :)

Hello New Paltz families, I see that almost everyone has "joined" my Google Classroom for Reading - how exciting!! I look forward to re-connecting with your children! Please encourage them to post comments and participate in activities as they are able to do so - this will not only support their literacy development, but more importantly help reinforce the sense of community we have established together in our reading groups. Some activities are more for engagement purposes, whereas others are more review and concept oriented. A friendly reminder that everything I post is suggested, not mandatory - as always, please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have and I look forward to "seeing" my reading students! :) Stay healthy and remember that we're here for you!

    Tuesday, May 5, 2020

Hello again New Paltz families, I hope that you are all doing well. Google Classroom has been up and running for a month now, and I just wanted to remind you to check there regularly each week for recommendations and suggestions for literacy activities and resources. As stated previously, none of the work is mandatory or graded, and there is no penalty for late submissions. Prioritize your family's health and wellbeing. Then, if you are able to do some remote learning online, prioritize your child's classroom teacher - think of me as an additional support. That being said, it is my hope that you and your child will benefit from the learning activities I have been posting in Google Classroom. If you have any questions, academic or otherwise, please don't hesitate to reach out to me via email. Be well! :)

    Tuesday, May 19th, 2020

Hello New Paltz families, I hope that you are well and have been able to enjoy some of the "summer preview" weather we've been experiencing! Google Classroom continues to be the main hub for all instructional materials posted on a regular basis. All activities and resources I have selected have been based on how useful, engaging, and supportive I think they are in regards to your child's wellbeing and continued growth in literacy. Remember that this work is optional, ungraded, and has soft deadlines. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me. I am here for you and your child - be safe and take care :)

    Sunday, May 31st, 2020

Dear New Paltz families, I hope that you have been able to stay safe and healthy during these challenging times as well as begin to enjoy the summer sunshine and temperatures. I have continued adding new content/material to your child's Reading Google Classroom to engage, differentiate, and reinforce their literacy skills. Student Material Pick-Ups have been scheduled for this coming week on Tuesday, June 2nd (third grade), Wednesday, June 3rd (fourth grade) and Thursday, June 4th (5th grade). I have packed up your child's reading folder with small gestures (stickers and pencils) as well as an optional summer reading resource packet. In addition to a few reading passages with follow-up questions and activities, I have included posters and other materials the will reinforce phonics skills and reading comprehension. Please let me know if you would like additional materials and I will email you links to access more printables.

Thank you for your support - it is a pleasure to work with your child!

    Monday, June 8th, 2020

Hello New Paltz families, I can't believe we have entered June! The temperatures have definitely made it feel like summertime, and as the country slowly begins to reopen there are more opportunities for family fun. I do hope you are able to enjoy some time together! :) All the while, I am continuing to provide your children with resources and optional instructional activities to engage them and support their literacy on their Reading Google Classrooms! As I find more websites and resources, I will keep adding them.

ALSO - I will be posting an "End of the Year" optional writing activity for my students to complete if they are able to do so sometime within the next week or so.

If you have any questions or want to reach out to me, please don't hesitate to send me an email!
