"Co-teaching does not exist solely to bring two teachers together, co-teaching exists to serve students"

How to Co-Teach  by Potts and Howard

Co-teaching is when two professionals, a special education teacher and a general education teacher, work together to meet the needs of each individual learner in their class. Co-teaching takes place in an integrated classroom, in which there are some students who are identified as having special learning needs. Both teachers communicate, collaborate and share the responsibilities of planning, instruction, and evaluation so that all students can gain access to the general curriculum. Co-teaching is a research-based practice that has been proven to help a wider range of students achieve success in the general classroom setting. Co-teaching has many different advantages to it...
