    Dear parents and caregivers,

We hope you and your families have been able to enjoy some outdoor recreational activities this season, despite winter weather’s inconvenient arrival during our precious school time. Like many, we too are concerned by the disproportionate and unfortunate impact the combination of holidays, winter weather and COVID-related closings has had on our students–particularly those in Cohort A– who attend on Monday and Tuesday. In consideration of both face and peer equity timeshare between the Cohorts, we plan to have Cohort A attend in-person tomorrow, Wednesday, February 17, for a regular instructional day. Although we know the addition of this Wednesday will not make up for all of the days lost, we believe it is important to try to provide our students with this opportunity.

The High School will be following a B day schedule. Cohort 1 students will be in-person for blocks 1 through 4. Cohort 2 students will follow the ONL [online] schedule and check Google classrooms for asynchronous work. Thursday will be a 2A day.

The Middle School will be following a B Day schedule. Cohort A will be in-person for periods 1 through 8. Cohort B students will follow the ONL [online] schedule and check Google classrooms for asynchronous work.

Cohort A in Lenape and Duzine will both be following the D day schedule.

There are no changes to the Cohort A bus routes.

In the event of refreezing tonight that would necessitate a two-hour delay tomorrow, please follow your school buildings’ two-hour delay instructional model.

Thank you again for your flexibility and collaboration as we endeavor to address the disproportionate impact of days off on our students in Cohort A. We will continue to look at the timeshare disparities between Cohort A and Cohort B and make additional efforts to provide equity, as needed.

    Thank you,

    Angela Urbina-Medina
