• Continuous Improvement

In collaboration with focus teacher groups, the Assistant Superintendent for Educational Programs has identified areas for growth within our published curriculum.  In meetings with teachers, particular themes continued to surface.  Once needs were identified, curriculum writing teams were formed.  A new framework has been developed for publishing our curriculum.  The hallmarks of the new curricular include:  Essential questions which promote a thematic/interdisciplinary approach, discovery and inquiry-based student learning experiences, as well as experiential learning. The curriculum also promotes collaborative learning, critical thinking and problem solving.  The Assistant Superintendent for Educational Programs is working closely with teachers to ensure a smooth implementation of these units some of which are scheduled to be implemented in the Spring of 2015.  The total curriculum project is expected to take 3 - 5 years for completion.
For your convenience, you will find links to our existing curriculum on this website.
