    Dear Staff, Parents and Families,

We have learned of two positive COVID-19 cases in New Paltz High School.

The first student tested positive and was last in attendance prior to Spring Break.  Due to the timing of the positive test and the last day of attendance, no additional quarantines are required.

In a separate situation, one of our student athletes on the Junior Varsity Volleyball Team has tested positive for COVID-19.  The student last attended practice Monday, April 5 and the positive test result was reported today.  As a result of the type of activity and the proximity of the players to one another, the rest of the team has been quarantined.  All notifications have been made to the families involved and the relevant departments.

I want to emphasize the importance of not coming to any of our District locations if you exhibit any of the following COVID-19 symptoms:

    • Fever or chills

    • Cough

    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

    • Fatigue

    • Muscle or body aches

    • Headache

    • New loss of taste or smell

    • Sore throat

    • Congestion or runny nose

    • Nausea or vomiting

    • Diarrhea

Please let us know if you have been in contact with anyone who:

    • has tested positive for COVID-19 in the previous 14 days.

    • is suspected of having COVID-19.

    • is awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test.

     Stay safe and be well.
