    To Parents, Caregivers, and Staff:

Today we were made aware that one of our middle school students has tested positive for COVID-19.  The student was last in attendance on Thursday, April 15.  At the time the student was in school, they were not experiencing any symptoms, but had experienced a temperature the previous day.    As a result of the student’s presence in school several students were required to quarantine.   Notifications have also been made to the Ulster County Department of Health in accordance with reporting requirements.

Please remember, COVID-19 symptoms may appear two to 14 days after exposure to the virus and include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. If your child experiences any of these symptoms, please keep them home from school and closely monitor. Consult with your child’s doctor for advice whenever needed.

Once again, we urge vigilance and responsibility. Please do not hesitate to contact the nurse’s office if you have any questions or concerns. Please contact Principal Sheldon at 256-4200 or Nurse Erin Bush at 256-4210.

We hope you will join us in extending our well wishes to all involved.

    Sincerely,

    Angela Urbina-Medina
