Lenape Students Can Change the World With Their Hands

In honor of Black History Month, Lenape Elementary School Grade 3 students in Traci Miranda’s class wrapped their arms around a pretty big concept: how they can change the world. The project, titled “I Can Change the World With My Hands,” began with students reading "Martin's Big Words: The Life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr." by Doreen Rappaport, where they were introduced to famous equality quotes. With the help of student teacher Siena Diaz-Colon, students then brainstormed their own inspirational words or phrases, and discussed different ideas on how they could foster positive change. Students volunteered ideas such as “Be good,” “Do the right thing,” and “No war, just peace.” Dream big!  #blackhistorymonth #MartinsBigWords #Icanchangetheworldwithmyhands #studentledvalues  #Maroonpride
