Duzine Art and Music Festival a Huge Success

Duzine Elementary School held its annual Art & Music Celebration on Thursday, May 4. Uplifting, colorful imagery depicting signs of Spring covered the walls and halls throughout the building, created by burgeoning student artists from pre-kindergarten to Grade 2. Students also performed two songs for their visiting parents and families—one with the assistance of the High School’s A Capella singing group—melting every heart in the audience. Attendees were invited to paint rocks to later be displayed outside of the building. The student renderings of animals that were used in the school’s new wall mural were also exhibited, as well as a special installment of “floating art” by Grade 2 students. Many thanks to those in the art and music departments,  as well as the faculty and staff who worked so hard to make this event a success! Duzine Art teacher Jen Cone and Music teacher Jessica Rodriquez would like to thank the Duzine teachers and classroom aides, office staff, Custodial department, the Parent Teacher Association, High school and Middle school student volunteers, NPCSD Transportation Department for helping with parking, and Principal Ross Hogan for the support and effort to help make the event possible. “We are especially grateful to our expressive and creative students who make us so proud every day with their dedication and love. We also would like to thank the parents for coming out to see and hear the amazing expressions of the Duzine students,” said Cone. Congrats to all!
