Seniors Ana Porrua, Yobana Mercado-Núñez, and Isabel Kraus represented New Paltz High School in Albany recently as delegates from the Mid-Hudson contingency at the New York Mock Assembly and Heritage Celebration. Over 300 students from New York State gathered for the culmination of a semester-long training, learning about the state legislative process which can directly influence the Latino/Hispanic community. At the three-day institute, they performed at a mock assembly at the Capitol Building, celebrated during a scholarship recognition dinner, and networked with students from around the state to learn how to empower our Latino community.
