• Engineering Day

    April 28, 2010

In prior years, Engineering Day was held at SUNY New Paltz with engineering students attending. This year, we wanted to reach more students, so it was decided to hold Engineering day here. SUNY New Paltz professor, Michael Otis, arranged to have a solar car and a solar car chassis brought to the school. During lunches, the solar car was in our cafeteria with Career and Techstudents to discuss and answer questions about it. Along with chassis, students in the Project Lead The Way classes had poster boards and demonstrations set up in the hallway. An assembly featuring engineering, NPHS Project Lead The Way classes, solar cars, solar car racing and the solar industry was held during block four. The solar car team discussion covered various skills needed to complete the team, including marketing, accounting, and welding.
