High School students from the Students of Color Alliance (SOCA) club took a trip with club advisor Albert Cook to Washington, DC on Sunday and Monday this past week. They visited the African American Museum of History, where they were especially interested in a new exhibit on Afro-Futurism (The original Black Panther suit that Chadwick Boseman wore is on display there). Then they visited one of the oldest Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in the country, Howard University, followed by the American Indian Museum and the Museum of Asian Art. In between trekking throughout the district, students tasted the fare of the town. They said it was fun, and delicious!
