New Paltz High School (NPHS) students are now integral members of the SUNY Ulster Community Band, where they earn college credits while tackling advanced musical pieces. Under the guidance of NPHS Band Director Sam Newsome, students prepare during the school day and rehearse with the Community Band on Wednesday evenings. This diverse ensemble includes college students, local musicians, and professional musicians, with key support being provided by Newsome as well as by fellow New Paltz Central School District Music Department members David Finch (Lenape Elementary School Band Director) and Jessica Rodriguez (Middle School Music teacher)
