Students Receive Teen Mental Health First Aid Training
75 students from Shannan Magnetico's health classes at the High School are currently completing an eight-day Teen Mental Health First Aid training led by the Maya Gold Foundation. They are exploring how trauma impacts mental health, learning practical tools like the Five-Step Action Plan, and discussing how to recognize and respond to challenges with empathy and support.
Students shared powerful insights:
“Good mental health means experiencing all our emotions.”
“Small injuries can spread into big issues—just like mental health.”
“Checking in and avoiding stigma are key to helping others.”
We’re inspired by their growth and grateful to Shannan Magnetico and the Maya Gold Foundation for making this impactful training possible!
