Students Visit Workshop Art Fabrication in Kingston and the New Paltz Reuse Center

On Thursday, December 12, students from Todd Martin's Studio in Sculpture course embarked on an inspiring field trip to Workshop Art Fabrication in Kingston and the New Paltz Reuse Center!

At Workshop, they explored the fascinating stages of the lost wax casting process, learned about professional metal fabrication operations, and witnessed the incredible artistry of a bronze metal pouring.

At the New Paltz Reuse Center, students discovered how the facility supports the community through recycling, trash, and composting services, while also promoting the reuse of materials to reduce landfill waste. They even gathered supplies for their final assemblage projects!

This hands-on experience combined art, sustainability, and community impact in a truly meaningful way.
