• Hey Everyone!
My name is Matthew Esposito.  I grew up in the Hudson Valley and I am incredibly excited about starting my fourth year here at New Paltz High School.  I have enjoyed teaching a variety of science courses during my time here, including Living Environment, Forensic Science, and Biochemistry.  This year I am teaching AP Environmental Science, Field Biology, and Horticulture.  I am also an advisor for the Environmental Club and previously Science Olympiad.

If you know your student is interested in landscaping or gardening, please encourage them to reach out to me about our beautiful Courtyard Gardens.  Established by longtime NPHS master teacher, Cathy Law, The Courtyard Gardens are one of the most unique aspects of our school and offer students the opportunity to apply what we learn in the classroom to practical hands-on experiences!  After Ms. Law's retirement, I was compelled to step in and keep this wonderful opportunity alive for students!  The courtyard gardens are primarily maintained after school by student volunteers in the Environmental Club.   We also make use of the courtyard during the school day in the Horticulture and AP Environmental Science classes (as a potential after-the-AP exam final project!).  For the 2023-2024 school year, volunteering in the courtyard after school now counts towards the Seal of Civic Readiness!
