    USA Germany Spain France Italy

    Hello,

This is my 13th year at New Paltz High School. My first year I
worked as the Spanish teacher at Duzine Elementary in addition
to teaching Spanish 1 & Spanish 2 at New Paltz High School. This
year I teach Spanish 4.  In the past I have taught both
French 1-5 and Spanish levels 1 through 5 and ENL. In addition to teaching, I am also a co-advisor for the Snow Club.
I love teaching and connecting with students and have also been working as an adjunct at SUNY New Paltz  in both the undergraduate and graduate program in the past.

My wife, who is also a teacher, and I  live in New Paltz, and have a young son and a. In my spare time I love to ride my bike, go for hikes and snowboarding. In the summer I love to travel. My love for it inspired me to take on a non-school associated trip. I have brought over 50 teenagers from New Paltz to trips to England, France, Italy, and Spain. They have been wonderful experiences for everybody involved.

My big passion is of course languages! I am a native German speaker and I started learning English at the age of 11, followed by French at the age of 13. My grandfather encouraged me to pick up Spanish in my late teens. During my early twenties I acquired Italian in various informal ways - through friends and travel, and by working in an Italian restaurant! Since then I have started learning Portugues with Duolingo, a free app that I really like.

I have studied in England, Scotland, Wales, France, Costa Rica, and Spain to further my language fluency. I hope to infuse my classes with my passion for languages
