The Board is committed to engaging the community in making potential changes to school start times. To ensure our students, staff, and parents play a role in the decision-making process, the Board of Education has contracted with K12 Insight, an educational consulting firm that specializes in community engagement, to conduct an extensive outreach effort. These experts have been charged with gathering clear, comprehensive feedback from our community about the various implications of adjusting start times.

K12 Insight will conduct three focus group discussions with our students, staff, and parents. These stakeholders will be invited to participate via email. K12 Insight will reach out to parents, faculty, students, and staff and select interested participants through a stratified random representative sample. Each of the three groups will include 15 people. The purpose of the focus group discussions is to inform the development of a survey designed to provide the Board of Education with a comprehensive understanding of potential challenges and benefits of changing our start times.
Survey administration to all students, parents, and staff. The survey will be administered electronically, or in paper format if needed. Translation to other languages will also be performed, as needed.
