The distinction between drawing and photography is merely a technical one ,

in which I have little interest.

The important issue is whether or not one's desire is channeled purely into expression.

But, of course, what makes photography appealing is its directness and its

     feeling of exploration

    - what you might call an openness to the outside world and a sense of the

     mystery of discovery.
