For the past 25 years the Construction Industry Council, along with our partners in the trades, we have hosted a career day for students in the Hudson Valley.

This is a great day to find out about the trades and have some hands-on experience with many of our unions and contractors.

The past number of years we’ve held the event at Rockland Community College, run during the school day and they come on a bus with their counselors and have a great experience. This year it will be on Friday, March 28^th. The event is so popular with the students and schools it fills up quickly.

New this year, will be a Construction Career Fair on Thursday evening, from 5:30 – 8:30 for students, parents and counselors.

We’re creating this evening for a couple of reasons, mainly to increase the opportunity for more students to come, as we have a limited number of spots available on Friday and not all can attend. But also, it gives the opportunity for parents to attend with their child and learn about these opportunities and the career paths that are out there and have very positive income potential.
